NATO Commander-in-Chief in Europe: More F-16 is preparing for deployment in Ukraine

NATO Joint Commander-in-Chief in Europe, General Christopher Cavoli said that another F-16 fighter jets are being prepared for deployment in Ukraine.

“There are more F-16, which is prepared for deployment. There are more pilots that are trained, ”he said at the US Senate hearings, adding that specific figures can be provided at a closed meeting.

Cavoli noted that fighters in Ukraine are “active, flying daily,” and reflected a large number of threats to winged missiles, have inflicted a lot of offensive attacks, in particular in the East.

“However, none of the F-16 was with the United States. Mostly they were from European countries – the Netherlands, data, ”he said.

In March, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that a new F-16 Western F-16 Party arrived in Ukraine. He did not specify the amount.

From the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Russia, the power of Ukraine has asked the West to provide modern F-16 fighters. In 2023, several countries, with the consent of the United States, decided to transfer such planes to Kiev. The arrival of the first F-16 fighters was known in early August 2024-they were shown during the celebrations for the Armed Forces Day.
