It is noted that the NATO mission will continue until Easter.
The Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram announced at the beginning of December that NASAMS anti-aircraft systems will be sent to Poland, as well as F-35 aircraft, which will support the defense of the country’s airspace.
Together with fighter jets and air defense systems, 100 Norwegian military personnel arrived in Poland, whose task is to oversee the safety of the transportation of equipment that goes to Ukraine through the hub in Rzeszów.
“We are here to protect critical infrastructure, key to the international support provided to Ukraine,” said the commander of the Norwegian contingent, Lt. Col. Erlend Hammervik-Elvenes.
Currently, the airport in Jasionka near Rzeszów is primarily protected by American Patriot anti-aircraft systems.
