Muzychuk won the Grand Prix stage in Austria, but was unable to qualify for the contenders tournament

Ukrainian chess player Anna Muzychuk completed the sixth stage of the Fide Grand Prix in the first place, but was not able to eventually qualify for the applicant’s tournament.

The athlete in the last round had to play better than Zhu Jiner to win the competition individually and ahead Alexander Goryachkin in the overall standings.

Unfortunately, Muzychuk drew from Vaishal Ramshbab, and China held a draw in a party with Kosienyuk. Thus, both chess players completed the stage in Austria with six points in the asset.

Thanks to additional indicators, Anna took the first place in the stage, but the prizes and scored points in the overall standings were divided between the rivals.

Thus, to take a place in the leading two and qualify for the tournament of the contenders, Muzychuk lacked less than two points.

The Ukrainian will have a chance to break into the tournament through a large Swiss, which will take place from September 3 to September 15 in Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that Muzychuk won in the same way the stage of the Grand Prix in Cyprus-then the chess player was also only ahead of Zhu Jiner.
