In the early hours of March 17, Moscow experienced another wave of drone attacks, marking the third consecutive night of such incidents. The city’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, confirmed the situation.
According to Sobyanin, air defense systems successfully intercepted 40 drones during this latest assault. However, he did not specify which locations were targeted or the areas in the Moscow region where the drones were shot down.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a total of 206 Ukrainian drones were downed across various regions of Russia overnight. Reports of intercepted drones have been circulating on Sobyanin’s social media since March 14, indicating a sustained pattern of drone activity.
From March 14 to March 16, air defense forces reportedly destroyed approximately 250 drones approaching Moscow and in the vicinity of the city.
Moscow has been under drone attack for three nights in a row, with air defense systems intercepting numerous drones. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported significant drone activity in the region, underscoring ongoing tensions.
