More than a hundred cities and villages without electricity due to bad weather and blackout schedules in most regions: the situation in the power system

Due to the effects of bad weather, 109 settlements in six oblasts have lost power, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in most regions, power outage schedules are in effect, in particular, in 11 oblasts and in Kyiv, two shifts of outages are in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., it was reported in NEC “Ukrenergo” on Thursday, writes UNN.

Consequences of bad weather

As a result of difficult weather conditions (heavy precipitation and wet snow), 109 settlements in Ukraine were cut off this morning – in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions.

Consumption

“Today, November 21, as of 5:00 a.m., the level of electricity consumption was 1% lower than at the same time the previous day – on Wednesday,” the message reads.

“There is a significant power deficit in the power system. In order to balance the power system, hourly blackout schedules are in effect in most regions today from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.,” Ukrenergo said.

In particular, according to Ukrenergo, in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv regions and the city of Kyiv:

• from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. there are two periods of shutdowns;

• from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., one round of shutdowns will be applied in the named regions.

In the Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, as noted, there will be one round of blackouts until 10:00 p.m.

“The situation in the energy system is changing, and accordingly, changes in the application of restriction measures are also possible,” the NEC noted.

“Please consume electricity sparingly throughout the day. Do not turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time,” the company urged.

According to the Ministry of Energy, last day the energy industry restored power to 11,953 consumers who were cut off as a result of hostilities.

The situation at the ZANP

“Due to enemy shelling, one of the two power lines of the station was cut off. Currently, the NPP is connected to the power system by only one line. Specialists are already working on restoring the power line of the NPP,” the Ministry of Energy said.

The water level in the cooling pond is reported to be 14.13 m. This is enough to meet the needs of the station.

Imports

It will take place during the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, Moldova. The total volume is 6,479 MW•h, with the maximum capacity in individual hours up to 608 MW.
