At the same time, on Monday, the Moldovan Security and Information Service announced that MP Alexander Nesterovsky, who had been sentenced to 12 years in prison in the case of illegal financing of the Shar Party, found himself in Transnistria with the help of Russian diplomats.
In September 2024, Nesterovsky was deprived of parliamentary immunity, and on March 19, the court in Chisinau sentenced him to 12 years in prison and a fine of 500,000 lei for passive corruption and the creation of conditions for illegal financing of the Shar Party.
Nesterovsky did not appear in court, and in the Russian media then there was information that he received Russian citizenship.
