Prime Minister supporters have already launched a boycott of popular American brands, including McDonald’s, Pepsi and Apple, which are extremely popular in India.
Modi stressed that the support of the national manufacturer will not only reduce India’s dependence on imports, but also promote economic growth. He also appealed to the owners of shops to focus on the sale of Indian products.
India Minister Piuush Goyal will be expected to visit Washington in the coming weeks to reduce trade tensions between the two countries.
