The year 2024 was marked by the global work of the Parliament and the Government on improving the basic laws on mobilization, which will also be valid in 2025. These legislative changes are aimed at increasing the efficiency of mobilization processes, improving military records, as well as granting deferments to certain categories of citizens in accordance with the country’s current defense needs.
So, we entered the new year with such a legacy:
- Presidential decrees “On the introduction of martial law in Ukraine” and “On general mobilization”;
- Updated laws “On mobilization training and mobilization”, “On military duty and military service”, “On the Unified state register of conscripts, conscripts and reservists”, “On the defense of Ukraine”, “On the legal regime of martial law”;
- Updated acts of the Government, which determine the procedure for organizing and maintaining military records of conscripts, conscripts and reservists, the procedure for conscripting citizens for military service during mobilization, for a special period, conducting a military medical examination in the Armed Forces, the procedure for booking conscripts, etc.
Of course, these acts will change throughout 2025, taking into account the situation at the front and real needs. The analysis and nature of such changes can be made from the draft laws that are currently under consideration in the Parliament or were recently adopted.
