Ministry of Energy: today was the third mass attack of the Russian Federation on energy facilities since the beginning of October

Today, October 30, was the third mass attack of the Russian Federation on energy facilities since the beginning of the month, because of this in the morning some consumers in several regions were left without electricity, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Mykola Kolisnyk said.

“The most affected settlements were in Vinnytsia region – more than 400, in Dnipropetrovsk region 125 settlements remained without power, in Zaporizhzhia – 148, as well as recorded damage in Lviv region,” he said on the air of the national telethon.

According to him, energy workers are doing everything possible to restore damaged facilities as soon as possible and ensure stable energy supply.

The Ministry of Energy adds that due to the consequences of the attack of the Russian Federation, the need for economical consumption of electricity remains, and urges citizens to consume electricity rationally, to avoid turning on energy-intensive devices during peak hours – from 7:00 to 9:00 and 17:00 to 22:00.

The energy company DTEK announced that Russian forces have again attacked its thermal power plants in various regions of Ukraine – this was the third mass attack on the company’s thermal power plants since October.

DTEK reported serious damage to TPP equipment.

On the night and morning of October 30, Russia launched a complex combined attack on Ukraine. As reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russia used 705 means of air attack for the strike – 52 missiles (nine of them – “ballistic”) and 653 UAVs of various types. The Ukrainian military neutralized 592 drones and 31 missiles. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, 10 regions of Ukraine were affected by the attack.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
