“Denmark became the first country to buy weapons and military equipment for the Armed Forces from Ukrainian manufacturers at its expense”, – WRITE: www.radiosvoboda.org
According to the department, in the first stage, Denmark allocated 50 million euros for the production of 18 self-propelled artillery installations “Bogdan”, and later the financing was expanded to establish the production of other strategic-important types of weapons: long-range drones, anti-tank and anti-ship missile systems.
According to the Ministry of Defense, for 2025 the EU has allocated billion euros from income from frozen Russian assets, and Canada – about 67 million euros. Denmark also reserved EUR 130 million for further investment in the Ukrainian defense industry. Norway is expected to provide about 43 million euros for the implementation of projects within the initiative, and Sweden has announced $ 178 million.
“The uniqueness of this approach is that it not only provides operational supply of the necessary weapons to the Ukrainian military, but also creates a powerful incentive for the development of the domestic defense-industrial complex. This, in turn, significantly increases Ukraine’s economic stability in the conditions of martial law and forms a solid base for the further development of the defense industry, ”the Ministry of Defense noted.
Denmark became the first country to buy weapons and military equipment for the Armed Forces from Ukrainian manufacturers. In April 2024, the Denmark government allocated 200 million Danish crowns (almost € 300 million) for investments in the Ukrainian defense industry.
