“At the same time, work continues on contracting the supply of drones for the coming months and years. This will make it possible to ensure the planned supply of drones and strengthen the capabilities of the Ukrainian army on the battlefield,” the message states.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense noted that in 2024, the amount spent on drones will exceed 100 billion hryvnias.
Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov reported that the number of UAV crews in the Armed Forces of Ukraine increased sevenfold over the year.
During the Russian-Ukrainian full-scale war, the role of drones increased significantly. On the front line for the Armed Forces, they partially compensate for the superiority of the Russian forces in artillery. Also, they have become indispensable for distant, hundreds of kilometers, strikes on military facilities on the territory of Russia.
