Microsoft, without unnecessary publicity, has announced that it will stop adding new features to Microsoft 365 (Office) for Windows 10 users in August 2026. Although safety updates will remain available until October 2028, functional innovations will be stopped gradually from next year, The Verge writes.

For Microsoft users 365 Personal and Family, new Official Opportunities on Windows 10 will stop coming in August 2026, at the same time as the storage of support for business users who use the so-called Current Channel. Further, on October 13, 2026, new features will cease to come to users of Monthly Enterprise Channel, and on January 12, 2027-for users of Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel.

At the beginning of this year, Microsoft has already abandoned the preliminary plan for the completion of security for Office on Windows 10, agreeing to continue them until 2028. However, the company did not report that since 2026 new Office features will only be available on Windows 11.

This is another step Microsoft before Windows 10 support is completed, which will officially end on October 14, 2025. After that, the Office updates will only be left in the format of security patches – without new functionality.

Although Microsoft is actively urging users to switch to Windows 11, millions of devices in the world still work on Windows 10. Even though Windows 11 recently has been running down for the first time for the ten -time, the transition is slow. For home users, Microsoft suggested that you continue receiving security updates for another year if you activate Windows Backup.
