Microsoft started deploying Windows 11 2025 main update – 25H2 versions

Vlad Cherevko I have been interested in all kinds of electronics and technologies since the early 2000s. I like to play computer games and understand the work of different gadgets. I regularly monitor the news of the technology in the world and write materials about it.

Windows 11 users have started receiving an annual new version of the system that has a 25H2 index this year. About it reports The Verge.

Update is available through Windows Update Center and is spreading gradually. Before that, he was tested by Windows Insider participants in Release Preview.

Package 25H2 is installed quickly as Microsoft releases it as a small “support package”. It is based on the same code basis as the previous version of 24H2. This allows the company to maintain a single branch of service and at the same time release new features for both versions.

The new version emphasizes safety. Improved mechanisms for detecting vulnerability during compilation and execution of programs, as well as tools with artificial intelligence support for safe coding were added. According to Microsoft representatives, these changes meet the requirements of a reliable security development cycle.

The update has also become more compact due to the removal of the outdated Powershell 2.0 components and the WMIC command line interface.

To get the 25H2 version as soon as possible, you need to activate “Receive the latest updates as soon as they are available” at the Windows Update Center. If the system reveals incompatibility with drivers or programs, the update can be temporarily delayed to solve problems.

Microsoft plans to expand the accessibility of the package over the coming months and publish information about known problems on the Windows Release Health portal.
