MFA: Alina Grosu does not hold a position in the bodies of the diplomatic service of Ukraine

Ukrainian singer Alina Grosu does not hold any full-time or part-time positions in the system of bodies of the diplomatic service of Ukraine for the performance of diplomatic or consular functions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed RFE/RL.

“We don’t know where the information came from that singer Alina Grosu “received a diplomatic post in New York,” the agency says.

Earlier, the singer said on the Instagram network that she had become “the official representative of Ukrainian culture in New York.”

This caused outrage among some social network users. In particular, the Ukrainian writer Andrii Kokotyukha criticized the singer for the fact that she “starred in music videos with Pugacheva’s grandson, sang in Russian and moved to Moscow.”

Alina Grosu is a Ukrainian singer from Chernivtsi who started her career in childhood. After graduating from high school, Grosu moved to Moscow and entered the All-Russian State University of Cinematography. After the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the singer returned to Ukraine.
