A three-day meeting of leaders and representatives of Ukrainian communities in Turkey is taking place in Ankara.
“Due to the full-scale invasion of Russia, a large number of Ukrainians were forced to seek a better fate outside of Ukraine. Escaping from Russian bombs and shells, having lost everything, they found refuge in partner countries, including Turkey, which are indifferent to our plight. And it was the Ukrainian unions that became for our forced migrants the centers where they found support and help,” said Oleksiy Chernyshev, Ukraine’s temporary charge d’affaires in Turkey, in his introductory speech.
The diplomat urged representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in Turkey to use every opportunity to inform the Turkish public about Russia’s barbaric war against Ukraine, crimes against humanity committed by Russia in Ukraine.
