An attack by Yemeni separatists earlier this month pitted the United Arab Emirates-backed Southern Transitional Council against Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces, bringing the two countries closer to full-scale conflict than ever before.
The publication reminds that Yemen has been in a state of civil war since 2014.
An official of the Saudi-led coalition said the two ships, which arrived from the UAE port of Fujairah, entered the port of Mukalla without coalition permission on Saturday and Sunday, turned off their tracking systems and offloaded a large quantity of weapons and military vehicles “to support the Southern Transitional Council.”
According to DerzZMI of Saudi Arabia, the coalition stated that there were no casualties or damage as a result of the strike on the Mukalla port.
Literally from the publications of DerzZMI of Saudi Arabia with reference to the spokesman of the coalition, Turki al-Malki: “At the request of the head of the Presidential Council of Yemen, Rashad al-Alimi, to protect the civilian population in Hadramout and al-Mahr, the air forces of the coalition on Tuesday morning conducted a limited military operation aimed at unloaded weapons and equipment.”
