Journalists learned the numbers of this car from sources with access to data on crossing the border. Later, they found this car in social networks and established the identities of the owners.

The Mercedes-Benz S 350 belongs to the 38-year-old Lviv businessman Maksym Vovka, who is the head and owner of the TimeLux company and, according to YouControl, owns a fleet of three cars used for transportation – a Hyundai Avante, a Mercedes-Benz S 350 and a Hyundai Sonata.

The TimeLux company was registered in Lviv in May 2025. The website states that the company offers premium class transportation to Poland, Moldova and Romania. In commercials, they promise “fast border crossing”, “full escort” and “individual routes according to the wishes of the client”.

Another co-owner of the carrier company is Eldar Asadulayev, who worked in the western regional office of the State Security Service and is designated as “the head of the anti-smuggling department of the Border Service” in one of the license plate verification applications.

Journalists did not find Asadulaev’s public declarations. In 2025, he filed a lawsuit against his unit because he was not paid extra during his service in 2016-2018. Asadulaev demanded settlement and payment, and the court sided with him.

The publication writes that the cost of a trip in November on the route Kyiv – Warsaw and a Mercedes-Benz S-class car costs 1300 euros.

“Schemes” contacted Lviv businessmen. Maksym Vovk replied: “The company does not check passengers’ documents. This is done by the relevant state bodies during the border crossing. I have no information to comment on your question.” To the second clarification, whether he knew Mindich, he answered: “Thank God, no.”

His business partner, Eldar Asadulaev, answered only briefly: “First time I hear” – and hung up.

Prehistory:

  • On the morning of November 10, it became known that NABU was conducting searches of businessman Timur Mindich and Minister of Justice Herman Galushchenko (as of November 12, Galushchenko was suspended from position). At the same time, UP sources reported that Mindich had fled abroad a few hours before the searches.
  • On the same day, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine reported that it had uncovered a large-scale corruption scheme for the embezzlement of funds in the energy sector, as well as made public audio recordings of the negotiations of the participants in this case.
  • On November 11, journalists revealed the names of all those involved in the investigation of mass corruption at Energoatom, who received suspicion from NABU. According to the “Schemes” project, Timur Mindich (who is called “Carlson” in the NABU audio recordings – ed.), ex-adviser to the Minister of Energy Ihor Myronyuk (“Rocket”), Dmytro Basov (“Tenor”), executive director of security at “Energoatom”, Oleksandr Zukermana (“Sugarman”), Ihor Fursenko (“Ryoshik”), Lesya Ustymenko and Lyudmila Zorina received suspicions.
  • Five persons from the list of suspects have been detained. Two of them – Mindich and Zukerman – left Ukraine.
  • On November 13, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi implemented the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions against Mindich and businessman Oleksandr Zukerman.
