French President Emmanuel Macron believes that Ukraine should conduct “realistic discussions” regarding territorial issues.

Details: Macron urged Ukrainians to “have realistic discussions on territorial issues” because “only they can have them” to find a solution to the conflict caused by the Russian invasion in 2022.
“The United States of America must help us change the nature of the situation and convince Russia to sit down at the negotiating table,” while the Europeans will have to “build security guarantees” for Ukraine, “which will be their primary duty,” Macron said.
The French president also warned that under the current conditions “there will be no quick and easy solution in Ukraine” – against the background of Donald Trump’s previous promises to end the war in 24 hours.
“The new American president himself knows that the United States has no chance of winning anything if Ukraine loses,” he said, adding that the capitulation of Ukraine cannot be good for Europeans and Americans.
He also said that “trust” in the West would be “undermined” if it agreed to “compromise” due to “fatigue” from the conflict.
It will be recalled that the President of Slovakia, Peter Pellegrini, stated that Moscow and Kyiv need to sit down at the negotiating table, and Ukraine will need to make territorial concessions to achieve peace.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the first negotiations on ending the Russian-Ukrainian war will take place with US President Donald Trump after his inauguration, and then, potentially, with Kremlin leader Volodymyr Putin.
