Details: According to Syrsky, then these troops showed their effectiveness, because they used different tactics – they did not come from the front, but acted with small assault groups, surrounded the enemy from the flanks and went to the rear.
The head noted that this success confirmed the ratio of losses, because, they say, “the enemy of loss is several times greater than ours.”
He added that later the 425th assault battalion was very effective in the Pokrovsky direction. After that, the Armed Forces scaled such units and now, according to Sirsky, there are already several assault regiments and a number of individual battalions, which “confirm their effectiveness literally on all sections of the front.”
Asked what the difference between the assault troops and the assault assaults, the head said that the DShV is, “so to speak, elite infantry”, parts that can enter the offensive, defend themselves, take deep raid actions.
“As a rule, they are used in the most important areas of the front, where a strong opponent concentrates their greatest efforts … They have their defense strips. They are able to carry out active offensive actions for a long time,” Syrsky said, adding that unlike them, the assault units are units of rapid response.
“The assault units become one of the key elements of increasing offensive potential, which will adapt to modern challenges of war. They are also equipped with all the modern weapons that we have in the armed forces. At the same time, they are not assigned any permanent areas, classic defense strips or onset.
According to him, storm troops are used in the offensive as part of advanced units. Their task is to submit the first lane of the enemy’s defense and to ensure the introduction of landing or all -military brigades or battalions into battle.
Syrsky added that paratroopers and storms suggest about the same loss in the offensive, but “they are significantly lower than that of the enemy.”
When asked why it is impossible to mix DShV and assault troops, the head said they were performing different tasks.
“And also, because of the specifics of tasks, these parts (assault troops) are constantly under my control, under the control of the General Staff. They need to be replenished. They have their own training program, prepare for the following actions, for assault.
According to him, the Russians also “go our way”, in particular, they also created a separate structure of the command of such assault troops.
