Lithuania has transferred 10 million euros to Ukraine for the production of long -range weapons – the Ministry of Defense

The Lithuanian National Defense Ministry has transferred 10 million euros to the production of modern Ukrainian long -range weapons, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on April 14.

“This is the result of the first tranche within the Memorandum of Understanding, signed in December 2024. These weapons are already working effectively on the front, enhancing our range, accuracy and power, ”said the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, calling the assistance of” strategic investment by virtue of Ukraine “and” security of the whole of Europe “.

The next tranche of this assistance will also be 10 million euros, Ukrainian minister added.

Declaring the beginning of the program in February 2025, in Lithuania, they noted that the official Vilnius would operate on the principle of “buy in Ukraine for Ukraine”. Also, the Lithuanian Office for Security reasons did not reveal the specific types of weapons that the agreement applies to.

Earlier, on February 19, Lithuania handed over to Ukraine a new batch of trucks, thermal imaging sights and other assistance for the Armed Forces.

According to the Government, Lithuania provided military assistance to Ukraine in total in the amount of more than 769 million euros. Ukraine’s general support from Lithuania is long -term and exceeded 1.5 billion euros.
