“There is every reason to claim that enemy special services are behind the order to set fire to the cars of servicemen and volunteers with the aim of destabilizing the internal situation in the country, especially in the frontline regions,” Nadiya Maksymets, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General’s Office, said on September 20.
According to her, the curators are looking for performers through Telegram channels, offering from 700 to 3 thousand dollars for arson.
Since the beginning of the year, law enforcement agencies have recorded 266 incidents of burning cars of servicemen and volunteers, in total about 300 cars were damaged in different regions of Ukraine.

At the beginning of August, the head of criminal investigation of the National Police, Vadym Dzyubynskyi, said on the air of a telethon that Ukrainian law enforcement agencies revealed 59 cases of arson of military servicemen’s cars and exposed 68 people suspected of committing these crimes. According to him, the most car fires were recorded in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro and Kharkiv.
In June, the National Police reported that the Russian special services, in order to destabilize the situation in Ukraine, encouraged minors to set fire to the cars of the Armed Forces servicemen for money.
