Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was “joking” when he allegedly supported US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
“Russian President Putin joked. Has a good sense of humor. He often resorts to jokes during his speeches and interviews. I don’t see any difference either for the current election campaign or for the future election campaigns in the USA for a long time. Because the notorious “deep state” operates there,” Lavrov said in an interview with the Sky News Arabia TV channel, published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
In this interview, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also said that Biden is allegedly “in such a physical condition that he has not been able to rule the country for a long time” and that the “deep state” is allegedly ruling instead.

Lavrov also stated that under Trump they were regularly and consistently implemented “quite serious” sanctions against Russia.
“In the end, we concluded for ourselves that we need to rely on ourselves. We will never in our history rely on the fact that a “good uncle” will come to the White House or to another Western capital and everything will be fine,” added the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
Putin’s statement of support for Kamala Harris and the reaction to it
On September 5, the Russian dictator cynically stated that the current US President Joe Biden was the leader of the Kremlin in the presidential election, however, since he decided to withdraw from the election and called on his supporters to support Vice President Kamala Harris, the Kremlin will do so.
Afterwards, US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that Putin “shouldn’t favor anyone.”
“The only people who should determine who will be the next president of the United States are the American people, and we would greatly appreciate it if Mr. Putin would a) stop talking about our election and b) stop meddling in it,” Kirby said.
US presidential candidate Donald Trump, in turn, said that Putin’s words about supporting Harris became offensive to him.
“I knew Putin, I knew him well. The other day he supported Kamala. I was very offended by this. I wonder why he endorsed Kamala,” Trump told supporters at a campaign rally in Wisconsin on September 7.
The US presidential candidate also called Putin a chess player and suggested that his statement was made with a smile.
“Should I be upset about this? No. Was this statement made with a smile? I think so, it was done with a smile,” Trump added.
In addition, the politician added that “no one in history has been tougher on Russia than Trump,” and Putin allegedly “knows like no one else.”
