The attack was aimed at the Unified and State registers, which are under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, the cyber attack was carried out by Russian hackers with the aim of disrupting the operation of the country’s critically important infrastructure. Specialists are now working in an intensified mode on the gradual restoration of access to the registers.
The priority is to restore the work of the State Register of Civil Status Acts, the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs, as well as the State Register of Real Estate Rights and Encumbrances. The initial stages of recovery are expected to take up to two weeks.
It is noted that the functioning of other state resources is not under threat. After systems are restored, a detailed analysis of the incident will be conducted to strengthen cyber defenses in the future.
Citizens are urged to remain calm, as the situation is under control, and information on the specifics of service provision will be provided in the near future.
