There is no threat to the capital’s water supply, and “Kyivvodokanal” is preparing to purify the water from organic compounds and get rid of the unpleasant smell. Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi, the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, said this on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.

Regarding drinking water, meetings were held with “Kyivvodokanal”, they took water samples in the most polluted places of the Desna River in the territory of Chernihiv region

According to him, with the help of adsorbents, in particular activated carbon, the results showed that it makes it possible to purify water from organic compounds and get rid of unpleasant odors.

With the reserves that “Kyivvodokanal” made, there is a reserve of activated coal. They are preparing for enhanced water purification, so there is no threat to water supply for Kyiv residents
