KMDA commented on information about a woman who allegedly froze to death in an apartment in Podil

The Kyiv City State Administration declares that the information spread on the Internet about a woman who allegedly froze to death in her own apartment is not true.

Citing the official conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the KMDA writes that the cause of death was heart failure caused by chronic ischemic heart disease.

According to law enforcement officers, the incident took place about two weeks ago, when a local resident reported that he was being flooded by a neighbor from above.

“During the emergency opening of the door, the police found an 88-year-old woman without signs of life. The apartment was dry, with the exception of the area in the kitchen due to a violation of the hermetic pipeline system. The woman’s body was sent for a forensic medical examination, which established that the death of the woman from Kyiv occurred as a result of chronic ischemic heart disease,” the message reads.

Earlier, the publication “Nova Gazeta Europe”, created by journalists of the Russian “Novaya Gazeta”, stated that a woman from Kyiv, who allegedly survived the Holocaust, “died of the Holodomor in Podil, in an apartment building on Pochaininskaya Street.” This message began to be actively spread in social networks.
