Details: According to the mayor, in investigative actions on the representatives of the Kiev authorities “involve all the power structures of Ukraine”, even law enforcement officers from other areas.
“Last year, more than 200 searches were conducted in Kyiv, 400 seams of documents (often one and the same come several times – they have fun). Law enforcement officers were conducted more than 500 interrogations. Almost 100 suspicions were presented,” Klitschko said.
He noted that searches are conducted not only in the workplaces of representatives of the city authorities, but also at home, in their cars and in their relatives, in addition, “all these shows are widely covered in the media.”
Klitschko added that often “people without a court decision are already guilty”, while “the courts reach units of cases.”
“So why do detective performances make, not for the purpose of blaming and discrediting? – the mayor was indignant.
Klitschko recalled that the Department of Combating Corruption, the Department of Internal Financial Audit and Control have been established in Kyiv, as well as a number of commissions and working groups with the participation of law enforcement.
He assures that the city authorities always cooperate with law enforcement agencies. In particular, “constantly transmits the information on possible facts of corruption and prevents them.”
“We are open to cooperation and we will not cover anyone. But everything must be done by law, not just for the sake of headings in the media!” Klitschko summed up.
