According to rescuers, five people were injured, including one child.
“9 apartments were partially destroyed, another 15 apartments were damaged. “Preliminarily, a person may be under the rubble,” the message reads.
As the service adds, emergency services are working on the spot: rescuers, medics, gas service, volunteers of the Ukrainian Red Cross, psychologists of the State Emergency Service and law enforcement officers. The State Emergency Service notes that the relevant services are investigating the circumstances and cause of the explosion.
The National Police of Khmelnytskyi reports that the explosion occurred on Ternopilska Street around 3:00 p.m.
“Currently, the demolition of the debris is ongoing. Employees of the city council determine the need for evacuating people and the threat of further destruction of the house,” the police added.
