He in Melitopol is engaged in oppression of Ukrainian churches. A man from Zaporozhye, where he defended pro-Russian positions since the early 2000s. During the Dignity Revolution, he participated in the local “anti-Maidan”, and with the beginning of the Russo-Ukrainian War joined the illegal armed forces of DNR. Subsequently, he disappeared from the public space to return there in 2022 and launch the fight against “sects” in the occupied territory.
He told reporters about his staff: Andriy Zinchenko, Vyacheslav Litvinenko and Alexander Danilov. The latter, before the annexation of Crimea, worked for a long time in medium -level administrative positions and held a frankly pro -Russian position.
Even after the start of a full -scale invasion, he moved to Melitopol, and now heads the Department of Internal Policy in the Occupation Administration.
Yevgeny Balytsky, a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, who moved to the side of Russia after the start of a full -scale invasion, signed an order for a ban on churches. These orders also deprived them of all movable and immovable property.
It is Balytsky, as the head of the administration, that coordinates the persecution of Ukrainian churches in Melitopol.
Now in the selected premises of the churches are the bodies of the Russian occupation power. In the premises of the Church “New Generation” – “Ministry of Youth of Zaporizhzhia region”, church “Grace” – “Ministry of Culture”, Church “The Word of Life” – the Department of “Ministry of Internal Affairs”.
