“During a press conference in Sweden, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Ukraine is ready for diplomacy, but emphasized Russia’s lack of readiness for peace talks”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
“We are ready for diplomacy, but not under the condition that we have to leave certain areas, giving our land and territories to the aggressor. It’s not about kilometers – it’s about the homes of our people, our history, identity, territorial integrity,” Zelenskyi said.
The President of Ukraine emphasized that he does not see readiness for diplomacy on the part of Russia.
“All these diplomatic efforts that she is showing with her calls and meetings are aimed at delaying decisive decisions by America and Europe, such as the introduction of sanctions … or the purchase of tomahawks. So they simply delayed decisions that are part of the pressure on Russia,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.

“We need a decision on the asset freeze… I hope we will have a chance tomorrow, but we understand that this is not an easy decision. Russia will do everything to prevent us from accepting it,” the Ukrainian leader noted.
Commenting on Russia’s attempts to “divide the EU”, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that they are also aimed at the PURL initiative, under which NATO allies buy American weapons for Ukraine.
“We know that Russia cooperates with some European countries. She is pushing them not to supply products under this program… Russia is spreading disinformation in the media, mostly in the United States today, also in Europe, that they are going to win this war. But this is not true. They have losses – one million three hundred thousand [осіб – ред.]. And their economy is shrinking. Of course, they are a rich country, they have a lot of money, energy carriers, so total energy sanctions are needed – no games – real. So all this will put pressure on them, and they will sit and talk,” Zelensky summarized.

US President Donald Trump said the other day that Ukraine and Russia need to stop on the current front line. When asked what should be done with Donbas, he replied that it is necessary to leave everything “as it is”.
Citing two high-ranking sources, The Washington Post reported that during a telephone conversation with Trump on October 16, Putin demanded that Ukraine hand over the entire territory of the Donetsk region as a condition for ending the war. Instead, Putin offered to return to Ukraine the parts of the territories seized by Russia in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.
