Italy announced the allocation of 13 million euros to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani.

Details: As noted in the Italian Foreign Ministry, this decision “is an important step in the efforts to restore energy systems” that were damaged as a result of the Russian attacks.
“Italy’s contribution – one of the largest for a single country – will help stabilize the electricity supply of millions of Ukrainians who suffered from the war in this difficult time,” the Italian Foreign Ministry said.
With this contribution, Italy confirms its constant support for the stability of the energy sector of Ukraine, the ministry added.
“Italy’s commitment to contribute to the Fund comes at a crucial moment when attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure continue. This contribution also demonstrates the Fund’s ability to quickly provide the equipment that the country so desperately needs,” the statement said.
The Energy Support Fund of Ukraine was created on the joint initiative of the Ministry of Energy and the European Commission in the spring of 2022.
At the beginning of September, the European Commission announced the allocation of an additional 40 million euros to Ukraine against the background of continuous Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure.
And in November, the Federal Ministry of Economy of Germany announced the provision of another 65 million euros for the repair of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
