ISW continues to estimate that Russia has used the preparation for Alaska Summit on August 15 to accumulate drones and missiles, and also stabbed Ukraine to make itself in a bona fide negotiator before the US administration.
“Russia will probably increase its blows across Ukraine in the next weeks to use its replenished reserves of rockets and drones and worsen the state of Ukrainian energy infrastructure on the eve of the coming winter,” the report reads.
Analysts point out that on the night of August 29 to 30, Russia has caused another large -scale combined strike and missiles in Ukraine – it was a third combined strike with the use of more than 500 drones and missiles since the US and Russia summit in Alaska on August 15.
On August 31, Russian troops attacked energy facilities in Odesa and Chernihiv.
Earlier this month, the Ministry of Energy reported that since March 2025 the Russian forces had made more than 2,900 attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Russian military regularly from various weapons – UAVs, missiles, booths, RSSUs – attacked Ukrainian regions.
The Russian leadership denies that during a full -scale war, the Russian army causes purposeful strikes in the civilian infrastructure of cities and villages of Ukraine, killing civilian populations and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply.
Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful.
