As of March 6, Ukrainian forces have engaged in 135 combat encounters since the beginning of the day, with the most significant clashes occurring in the Kostyantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Hulyaipole directions, according to a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, Russian forces launched 20 assaults against Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of Kostyantynivka, Pleshchiyivka, Yablunivka, Ivanopillya, Illinivka, Berestok, Rusyn Yar, Sofiyivka, and towards Novopavlivka. The Pokrovsk direction saw 22 attacks, with attempts to advance near Shakhove, Zatyshok, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Muravka, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne, and towards Novolександрівka and Bilitske. Three combat engagements are still ongoing. In the Hulyaipole direction, 19 clashes took place around Myrne, Hulyaipole, and towards Zaliznychne, Krynychne, Olenokostyantynivka, and Varvarivka. Ukrainian defense forces have repelled 18 attacks.
Additionally, combat operations continued in the Northern Slobozhansky, Kursk, Southern Slobozhansky, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Dnipro directions.
Earlier today, President Volodymyr Zelensky, who visited Donetsk, stated that Russian forces are not retreating from the conflict and are preparing for an offensive in Donetsk this spring.
According to an assessment by the American Institute for the Study of War on March 3, Ukrainian troops have reclaimed more territory than they lost for the first time since the summer counteroffensive of 2023 during the last two weeks of February.
In an interview with the Italian publication Corriere Della Sera on March 3, President Zelensky reported that Ukrainian forces have regained 460 square kilometers of territory since the beginning of the year. He emphasized that Ukraine is not losing the war and is seeking dialogue, aiming for peace.
