Intense Fighting Reported in Eastern Ukraine as Military Engagements Surge

As of March 1, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported a significant escalation in military confrontations, documenting 114 clashes since the start of the day. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine indicated that the enemy launched a missile strike, conducted 65 airstrikes, and deployed 208 guided bombs.

In addition, the report detailed the use of 5,735 kamikaze drones and 2,767 shelling incidents targeting populated areas and military positions. Notably, over one-third of the fighting occurred in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy executed 20 attacks, attempting to advance in the vicinity of Shakhove, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Udačne, Molodetske, and towards Bilitske. One engagement in this area is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Huliaipole direction saw 23 attacks, with hostilities reported near Huliaipole, Myrne, and towards Zaliznychnyi, Dobropillia, and Staroukraiinka. Airstrikes targeted areas including Vozdvizhivka, Samiylivka, Holubkove, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Liubytske, Tersyanka, Barvinivka, and Verkhnya Tersa, with three clashes still in progress.

Fighting also continued in the South Slobozhanskyi, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, Oleksandrivka, and Orikhiv directions.

On February 15, military analyst Kyrylo Mashovets from the Information Resistance group reported that Ukrainian forces had launched counteroffensive operations in several areas around Huliaipole and Zaporizhzhia. According to Mashovets, the Ukrainian military managed to dislodge Russian troops from various villages near Pokrovsk in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and Ternove in Zaporizhzhia, as well as to the north and west of Huliaipole and south of Zaporizhzhia. However, the Ukrainian General Staff has yet to comment on these counteroffensive actions, while Russian forces reportedly continue their assaults in the region.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have reported a sharp increase in military engagements, with 114 clashes recorded on March 1. The fighting is concentrated in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole areas, where both sides are actively exchanging fire and conducting airstrikes.
