Intense Combat Reported on Eastern Front as Russian Forces Suffer Heavy Losses

On March 24, a significant escalation in hostilities occurred on the eastern front, with Ukrainian military reports indicating 191 combat engagements. The Russian army focused its efforts primarily in the Kostyantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole sectors, resulting in the loss of approximately 1,220 personnel.

The morning briefing from the Ukrainian General Staff on March 25 detailed the extent of the conflict, noting that Russian forces launched a missile strike involving 30 rockets, conducted 69 airstrikes, and dropped 218 guided bombs. Additionally, they deployed 9,879 kamikaze drones and executed 4,049 shelling attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian positions, including 111 strikes using multiple rocket launch systems.

Russian airstrikes targeted several regions in Dnipropetrovsk, including Ivanivka, Prosyana, Orly, and Pokrovsk, as well as various locations in Zaporizhzhia such as Novoselivka and Orikhiv.

Ukrainian defense forces successfully struck one key target belonging to the Russian military during this period. Overall, Russian military losses on March 24 included six tanks, three armored vehicles, 51 artillery systems, 2,459 drones, 23 cruise missiles, and 196 vehicles.

Frontline Situation

In the North-Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Ukrainian positions and settlements experienced 77 shelling incidents, including three involving rocket systems, and four airstrikes utilizing ten guided bombs. One attack from Russian forces was also reported.

In the South-Slobozhansky direction, Russian troops made four attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses near Vovchansk and in the direction of Okhrimivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, five assaults were launched towards Petropavlivka, Novosynove, Novoplatonivka, and Kurylivka.

In the Lyman area, nine attacks were reported as Russian forces sought to penetrate Ukrainian defenses near Tverdokhlibove and Serebrianka, as well as in the vicinity of Lyman and Drobysheve.

Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled five attempts by Russian forces to advance in the Sloviansk sector, particularly around the settlements of Yampil, Zakitne, Platonivka, and Pazeno.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Russian troops made four attempts to improve their positions by assaulting areas around Min’kivka and in the direction of Malynivka and Virolyubivka.

In the Kostyantynivka sector, Russian forces conducted 39 attacks targeting Kostyantynivka, Pleshchiyivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillia, Oleksandro-Shultine, Stepanivka, Sofiivka, Rusynyi Yar, and Novopavlivka.

Ukrainian forces halted 47 assault attempts by Russian troops in the Pokrovsk direction, particularly around Nikanorivka, Pokrovsk, Rodynske, and Hryshyne.

In the Oleksandrivka area, eight attacks were recorded in the vicinity of Ternove, Krasnohirske, Zlahoda, and towards Pryvillya.

In the Huliaipole direction, 22 attacks were reported targeting settlements such as Dobropillia, Staroukrainka, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Varvarivka, Myrne, and Olenokostyantynivka.

No offensive actions were noted in the Orikhiv and Dnipro directions. Additionally, no signs of Russian troop formations were detected in the Volyn and Polissya regions.

The latest reports indicate a surge in combat on the eastern front, with Russian forces suffering significant casualties. Ukrainian defenses have effectively repelled multiple attacks across various sectors, highlighting ongoing tensions in the region.
