The Ukrainian General Staff reported a significant escalation in combat activities today, with 120 clashes occurring since the start of the day. The majority of these confrontations took place in the Konstantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole directions, particularly concentrated in the Pokrovsk area.
According to military officials, Russian forces launched 24 attacks in an effort to advance near the settlements of Toretske, Myrnohrad, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, and Molodetske. As of now, one engagement is still ongoing.
In the Konstantynivka direction, Russian troops attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 14 times, while 12 assaults were recorded in the Huliaipole sector. Two clashes in this area are currently active.
Combat operations are also continuing in the Northern Slobozhansky, Kursk, Southern Slobozhansky, Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, and Oleksandrivka directions. However, no offensive actions have been reported in the Orikhiv, Dnipro, and Kramatorsk areas.
On March 26, General Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that intense fighting persists in the Southern operational zone, with Ukrainian forces monitoring the repositioning of Russian troops. In an interview with Radio Free Europe on March 19, Colonel Ruslan Habinet of the 5th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade confirmed that defense units continue to maintain control over certain areas of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in Donetsk.
Military analysts have noted an uptick in hostilities in the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict, attributing this to improved weather conditions, and anticipate an increase in Russian ground operations as March comes to a close.
