Last night, in the village of Yasinya, in Transcarpathia, an official car caught fire on the territory of the local police station. According to the State Emergency Service, the fire completely destroyed the Nissan Patrol and partially damaged another ZAZ Lanos car.
The law enforcement officers established that this arson was deliberately set. Therefore, thanks to the actions of the police and the use of video surveillance cameras, the suspects – two 22-year-old local residents who previously had no problems with the law – were detained within a day.
As it turned out, the young men were recruited through social networks by the Russian special services, who promised them a reward for setting fire to a police car. Carrying out the order, they poured flammable liquid on the car, set it on fire and even filmed everything. However, after the video was sent to the customers, the promised payment did not arrive.
Based on the collected evidence, the police detained the suspects. Their actions are classified as intentional destruction of someone else’s property by arson, which provides up to 10 years in prison. The investigation is currently ongoing.
