Literally: “Due to the sudden melting of the snow and the rise of the water level in the Tisza near the village of Hetynia of the Beregivu district, the flood washed away the support of the gas pipeline. The structure is significantly tilted, which endangers the stable gas supply for almost 5,800 subscribers in 17 settlements: Hetynia, Sasovo, Dyakovo, Petrovo, Bobove, Chepa, Chornotysovo, Dyula, Kholmovets, Divychne, Zatisivka, Velyka Palady, Zabolottya, Bratovo, Okli, Okli Ged and Klynove.

Details: An operational headquarters is working at the scene of the incident in the Piyterfolviv community. Specialists have already begun to build an embankment across the Tisza to ensure access of special equipment to the damaged support. Currently, the primary task is to fix the pipe for further repairs.

At the same time, engineers are considering several technical solutions: “installation of a temporary bridge or complex drilling of a new line under the river bed.” Due to the complexity of the work, experts work through these options at the same time.

For the residents of the settlements, which were in the risk zone, the power outage schedules were canceled for the period of the works. Oblenergo engaged additional emergency crews so that the network could withstand peak loads during the transition of residents to electric heating.

Local authorities and the State Emergency Service are deploying additional “Points of Invincibility” and heating points. The population is recommended, if possible, to prepare alternative furnace heating and reserves of liquefied gas for household needs.
