In three years of struggle, Ukraine helped all Europe more accurately evaluate the Russian threat

In order to objectively evaluate the results of the three -year aggressive war of Russia against Ukraine, we have to remember what the intention of Russia began with this war.

Russia planned to occupy Ukraine in a few days, to establish a puppet government there, to “clear” the country from national forces, to demilitarize Ukraine, to permanently block its integration into the Euro-Atlantic space and to attach to itself within the so-called union state of Russia-Ukraine-Bilor.

However, Putin’s main goal was not just to occupy Ukraine – he sought to create a new world order.

It is worth recalling that Russia has launched an aggressive war against Ukraine by presenting the US and NATO ultimatum. That is, the Kremlin expected that the rapid occupation of Ukraine would make the West recognize the “new redistribution of the world” and agree with the demands of Russia – to return NATO troops to the borders of 1997, to bring them from Eastern Europe (the former countries of the socialist camp) and to recognize the post -Soviet space in the sphere of influence of Russia. According to this plan, the occupation of Ukraine was to change the world order and make Russia an equal partner of the United States in managing at least half of the world.

Three years ago, starting the war against Ukraine to “end the world’s world leadership”, Putin was counting on victory. However, three years later, he hopes only that the US President will be able to help him complete the war as soon as possible to avoid shameful defeat.

In evaluating the results of this war, we should not be affected by the fact that in 2024 Russia, at the cost of huge losses, was able to occupy another 0.5% of the Ukrainian territory. Unfortunately, there are such losses in the Great Wars. However, it should not be forgotten that in three years, Ukraine has liberated territories that far exceed the area that Russia occupied in 2024.

I believe that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue to carry out successful counter -offenses. Therefore, it is important to consider the fundamental results of these three years.

In three years, the Ukrainian people were able to defend state independence, sovereignty and democracy. The state not only did not fall apart, but also became stronger and increased its international influence.

Russia has not been able to demilitarize Ukraine, on the contrary, for these three years the Armed Forces received modern Western weapons, created a powerful military-industrial complex and in fact turned into one of the strongest armies of Europe.

In fact, the Ukrainian army was already integrating into NATO. Despite the temporary difficulties, there is virtually no doubt that Ukraine will be a member of NATO.

Ukraine’s successes on the way to the EU are even more impressive. During the war, Ukraine received the status of a candidate for EU members. Even the Russian leadership does not deny that Ukraine will soon become a full member of the European Union.

During these years, the Ukrainian people have gained many valuable allies and friends. It is already clear that after the end of the war, partner countries, especially the EU, will provide Ukraine with significant assistance in the restoration of destroyed cities, infrastructure and economy.

Of course, all these achievements were given to Ukraine at an incredibly high price. Many Ukrainians have lost their lives, health, loved ones and property. It is difficult to even imagine what the Ukrainian people have passed over these three years. But with its sacrifice and courage, Ukraine has already achieved great success. I am sure that the hardest times for Ukraine are behind.

Even before the end of the war, Ukrainians will be able to preserve their country, freedom and democracy. In the future, Ukraine will become an authoritative EU member with a advanced management system and a strong economy. I am sure that after the war, Ukraine will receive reliable security guarantees from the West, and Russia will not be able to launch a new aggressive war.

The Ukrainian people with their struggle for freedom, democracy and the right of free choice have increased respect for all humanity, for democratic values ​​and human rights. The positions of the world “club of authoritarian regimes”, led by Russia, have weakened.

By striking the imperial ambitions of Russia, weakening its military power, economic opportunities and international influence, the Ukrainian people defended other independent states of the post -Soviet space.
