What preceded: On December 7, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced that representatives of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umyerov and Andriy Hnatov, are on their way from the USA to Europe, where they will provide the president with detailed information about “nuances that the Americans are ready to modify” in negotiations with Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
On December 6, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, along with members of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation Rustem Umyerov and Andrii Hnatov, held a conversation with US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
According to the American publication Axios, the conversation lasted two hours, and the discussion of the territorial issue was “difficult”.
