On December 17, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on human rights violations in the occupied Ukrainian territories, in which it called Russia’s aggression a “war of aggression” for the first time.

Literally from the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “It is important that this document became the first UN resolution in which the General Assembly calls the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine the “War of aggression against Ukraine”.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the adoption by the UN General Assembly with 81 votes in favor of the updated resolution “Situation with human rights in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, including the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.”
Details: The Ukrainian agency notes that the document covers the human rights situation in all territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, which ensures increased monitoring by the UN and the international community of all crimes and gross violations committed by the Russian occupation authorities against local residents in these territories.
Literally from the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “The General Assembly once again confirmed the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and the non-recognition of any changes in the status of Ukrainian territories.
In this regard, the UN General Assembly demands that the Russian Federation immediately cease aggression against Ukraine and withdraw all its armed forces from the territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.”
