In the Russian Federation, Ukrainian was sentenced to more than 5 years in prison for service by a physician in the Battalion of the Armed Forces in 2018

The Southern District Military Court in the Russian Rostov-on-Don sentenced to five years and two months of the general regime, 54-year-old Ukrainian Elena Ipatov, declaring it guilty of his article on participation in the terrorist community, Mediazonna writes.

Ipatov was detained on March 14, 2025. The Russian prosecutor’s office in the occupied part of Donetsk region reported that Ipatov served as a “combat physician” in the assault battalion “Aydar” of the Armed Forces from January 2018 to the spring of that year. It was not reported that she participated in the battalion after the start of a full -scale invasion.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs has been looking for Ipatov since February 20, 2025. The place of her birth in the search card indicates the city of Siverskodonetsk of Luhansk region.

The Russian courts regularly condemn Ukrainian citizens from the occupied territories that resisted the Russian military, until long terms on charges of terrorist attacks and “state treason”.

Earlier in August, the Southern District Military Court sentenced a 20-year-old resident of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhya region, Dary Kulik to 18 years of colony of the general regime. The girl was also assigned a fine of 600 thousand rubles. The Kulik was found guilty of the State Previous, an attempt on a terrorist attack, participation in the terrorist community and illegal storage of explosives.

In June, the same court sentenced the family from Melitopol to imprisonment: a 29-year-old resident of the occupied city Artem Murdidid for a lifetime term, his civilian wife Anna Vododer-up to 20 years of colony of general regime, mother Anna Murdidid-up to 22 years of colony.
