According to the investigation, the man was an opponent of the “special military operation” (the Russian official name of the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine). In 2022, he transferred money to a close relative who lives in Ukraine. It is argued that, as he was instructed, she “financed one of the Ukrainian funds that purchased weapons, ammunition, uniforms and equipment in favor of the military units of Ukraine.”
“The defendant pleaded guilty, explaining in court that, having transferred the money to the Ukrainian fund in the said manner, he understood that he had acted against the security of Russia,” the court said. The man was also deprived of the title “Lieutenant Colonel of the Reserve”.

Human rights activists believe that many cases were related to the provocations of the FSB, and their victims are users of social networks who are in anti -war and opposition publications.
