“At night, the enemy massively attacked Kyiv region with attack drones. Air defense forces worked in the region. Enemy targets destroyed. Hitting residential or critical infrastructure objects was not allowed. Unfortunately, a woman was injured as a result of falling fragments of downed targets. She was hospitalized in one of the region’s medical institutions, and all the necessary assistance is being provided,” said the head of the OVA.
According to him, as of 8:30 a.m., five cars and five private houses were damaged in the region: doors, windows, facades and roofs were broken.
Grass flooring and forest litter caught fire in four districts, all fires have been extinguished, OVA added.
The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that on the night of September 16, they shot down 53 of the 56 Shahed drones launched by Russia, three more were “locally lost in several regions, previously without casualties or consequences.”
Earlier, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that Kyiv suffered a massive attack by Russian troops on the night of September 16.
As the head of the city’s military administration, Serhiy Popko, said, this was the eighth air attack by the invaders on Kyiv, “and this is only in the first half of September.”
According to preliminary information, there were no casualties or damage in Kyiv.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.
