As the press service of the local administration of the National Police of Ukraine reported on November 24, after the Russian missile attack, rescuers, policemen and medics searched for the living and the dead for several days. Search and rescue operations at the sites of the attacks ended in the evening of November 22.
“However, the work does not stop. Currently, the search for those who have gone missing is ongoing. Investigative teams visit the site outside the city, where hundreds of tons of debris were taken from Stusa and 15 Kvitnia streets, every day. They are unfolding each layer of the destroyed structures, working out the areas by hand in search of something that can help determine the fate of the missing,” the message reads.
As the police reported, several fragments of bone remains were found in recent days.
“As of yesterday, five fragments of bone remains and soft tissues were discovered. They are immediately delivered to the Forensic Medical Morgue, where we conduct examinations and directly select already biological tissues, if possible, from tubular bones. At the same time, bone fragments are being taken for genetic molecular examination, to identify the bodies,” said Inna Vivchar, a senior investigator of the investigative department of the State Police in Ternopil Oblast.

As a result of the Russian attack on November 19, residential buildings were hit in Ternopil. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two residential 9-story buildings were damaged in the city: in one – a fire, in the other – destruction from the 3rd to the 9th floor.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced on November 20 that the Russian missile that hit the high-rise building in Ternopil contained 175 foreign components that are still entering Russia to circumvent sanctions.
