As it is noted, 61-year-old Hrushevsky was a former high-ranking official of the Department of Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and later-the National Police.
Death raised suspicions among residents. Although there were no obvious traces of violence on the body, blood came from one ear. Residents suggest that the cause could be a sudden cardiac arrest or stroke, but they do not reject the possibility of murder.
Hrushevsky, who had no close contact with his neighbors, remained a little -known person for them. Only after the incident did it become known that it was related to the fight against organized crime in Ukraine.
His name was found only in the archival Ukrainian registers of legal entities of the 1990s, where he appeared as the head of the Organized Crime Control Department in Cherkasy and Kirovograd regions. The unit itself was liquidated in 2015 within the framework of the police reform.
Some residents suggest that Hrushevsky could have been retired and settled in Spain.
Hrushevsky’s death took place less than one and a half years after the murder in the same complex of Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who fled to Ukraine together with the MI-8 military helicopter. Then the Russian agents killed him in the underground parking of the complex.
The similarity of the place and circumstances of the two deaths is suspected of the possible involvement of the Russian special services in this case.
So far, there are no official conclusions of the investigation about the causes of Hrushevsky’s death. The case of Kuzminov, meanwhile, is still under the stamp of judicial secrecy.
It should be noted that in August 2023 it became known that the helicopter Mi-8 of the Armed Forces of Russia was in Ukraine as a result of special operation. The Mi-8 pilot was 28-year-old Maxim Kuzminov. He received a reward – $ 500 thousand in UAH equivalent.
And on February 19, 2024, Ukrainian military intelligence confirmed that Maxim Kuzminov was found dead in Spain.
In June 2024, The Wall Street Journal, citing sources in the Western special services, reported that Kuzminov Killer’s murder received money from Russian civil servants in Vienna.
