Details: According to the report, on June 18, the prosecutor’s office took measures to collect evidence in the framework of the investigation of suspicion of abuse of funds intended for military assistance to Ukraine. The approximate loss is € 7.4 million.

Eight people were detained, four of whom are civil servants of the Slovakia Ministry of Defense.
In April 2025, the European Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into high -ranking officials of the Ministry of Defense, who are suspected of non -targeted use of funds allocated for military assistance to Ukraine.
From February 2022 to March of the same year, the Slovakia Ministry of Defense has submitted applications to the European Peace Fund (EPF) for reimbursement of military assistance expenses provided to Ukraine, namely for the ammunition supplied.
The suspects allegedly deliberately violated their duties, as well as budget rules, issuing unreasonable orders for the purchase of ammunition from two private companies. The European Prosecutor’s Office suspects that the public procurement procedure was falsified and that ammunition could be purchased at an inflated price.
The investigation is conducted in cooperation with the Slovak Department for Combating Organized Crime in Police Management.
All suspects are considered to be guilty of proving their guilt in the competent courts of Slovakia.
The European Prosecutor’s Office is an independent European Union prosecutor’s office responsible for investigation, prosecution and prosecution of crimes against EU financial interests.
Last year, it became known that the Slovak authorities asked the police to investigate against the former government and the Minister of Defense Yaroslav Nadia because of the transfer of the MiG-29 fighters and the CUB-29 fighter defense system.
