In Sevastopol, the mother and daughter were sentenced to 12 years of colony in the case of treason

The Russian court in the occupied Sevastopol sentenced 42-year-old Victoria Strelets and her 24-year-old daughter Alexander Strilets up to 12 years in the colony of the general regime each in the case of treason, the Russian prosecutor’s office reported. According to the media, the court considered the case in one meeting.

According to the investigation, Oleksandr Strelets decided to cooperate with representatives of Ukraine for rewarding and attracted her mother. In September 2023, because of the unnamed messenger, she said, transferred to the representatives of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine photographs of Russian military facilities that her mother took.

Women were detained by FSB staff on the Black Sea Fleet.

The protection or the most convicted women with comments on the circumstances of the case did not publicly spoke.

According to the human rights organization “Crimean”, in 2024, at least 56 Crimeans were persecuted by the Russian authorities. The reasons for criminal cases were accusations of alleged relations with the prohibited organizations in the Russian Federation, state treason, espionage, public utterances, organizing sabotage or calls for violence.
