A draft law has also been approved, according to which the defendants can enter into contracts with the Russian army during the period of mobilization or martial law, the Russian service of Radio Liberty writes.
If the law is passed, changes will be made to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes – the preventive measure chosen against the person who concluded the contract will be canceled. At the same time, if several persons are involved in the case, the court proceedings will be continued for those who did not enter into a contract.
Currently, those who are under investigation, but their cases have not yet been brought to court, or those who have already been convicted, have the opportunity to release themselves from responsibility by signing a contract.
