President Volodymyr Zelenskyi is among the three foreign politicians who Poles most often called politicians of the year.

Details: As noted by sociologists, choosing the politician of the year among representatives of the international political scene, as a rule, causes more difficulties for Poles than determining the most outstanding representative of national politics.

“In December 2025, slightly more than two-fifths of respondents (41%) had problems with this, and even more than a quarter (27%) believed that none of the foreign politicians they knew had played a significant enough role in international politics during the past twelve months to deserve this title,” the study says. 1% of respondents refused to answer.

Poles awarded US President Donald Trump the title of politician of the year-2025 in the world – this is what 11% of respondents think. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who was named by 5% of respondents, came in second place in the rating. French President Emmanuel Macron closes the podium with 3% of the vote.

Only a few respondents indicated the rest of the politicians. Approximately 1% of respondents indicated: the head of the EC, Ursula von der Leyen; Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban; former US President Joe Biden; New York Mayor Zoran Mamdani; Pope Leo XIV; Vice President of the USA J. D. Vance, as well as the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski. 4% of respondents gave other names.

It was previously reported that the majority of Poles do not expect the war in Ukraine to end in 2026.

In addition, more than half of the polled Poles oppose the introduction of a temporary tax to finance the modernization of the Polish army.
