In the Presrection of the OPHZ, released on June 26, experts confirmed the presence of a toxic chemical – the Iritozoidic action (CS), which is used by police against violators in demonstrations, in the incident that occurred along the line of collision in the Dnipro region in February 2025. The check was carried out at the request of the Ukrainian side.
“Analyzes conducted separately and independently of each other, designated by Laboratories of OPHZ, confirm that all grenades collected from the dugouts at the observation post and on the positions of recreation contained a substance to combat CS unrest, compounds associated with CS, and/or products of their disintegration; soil and vegetation collected from places where grenades were found also contained CS, its precursors and/or its decay products; And the soil sample, collected approximately 15 meters from one of the grenades at the site of the incident, as well as a sample of the solvent from the FPV-Oron fragmentation frame also contained CS in very low quantities, ”the message reads.
The OPHZ emphasized that this is a third report, which confirms the presence of CS, a chemical for combating mass riots, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, along the collision line. The first report was published in November 2024 and the second report in February 2025.
The organization emphasized that the use of chemicals to combat mass riots as a method of war is prohibited.
The CEO of OSCHZ Fernando Arias stated that reports on the detection of chemicals on the front line in Ukraine “cause deep concern.”
“This is the third such confirmed incident and it emphasizes the urgent need to strengthen the compliance with the Convention on Chemical Weapons. The international community, as never before, should remain vigilant in protecting the ancient norm against the use of chemical weapons in any context, ”he stressed.
At the end of May, the Armed Forces General Staff stated that in May, the Russian army used dangerous chemicals on the battlefield in May 888.
In April 2025, the Main Intelligence Directorate reported that cases of use of poisonous gas were increasingly recorded on the line of combat collision. According to intelligence, among the Ukrainian military, as a result, were killed.
From the beginning of aggression against Ukraine, Moscow does not recognize its military crimes by its military.
CS is a tear gas, also known as cheese. It causes severe irritation of the eyes, skin and respiratory tract: a person chokes and loses orientation. Formally, CS is considered a non -lethal means of suppressing riots and is in service for police in many countries. The use of substances such as weapons is prohibited by Article 1 of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
